Tata Curvv Updated with New Interior Theme and Added Features

Tata Motors has updated its popular Curvv compact SUV, enhancing its interior appeal and comfort features to keep it competitive in India’s fast-growing midsize SUV segment. First launched in 2024, the Curvv quickly gained traction for its distinctive coupe-inspired design and strong powertrain options. However, with segment rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Grand Vitara offering increasingly premium features, Tata has now introduced a subtle yet meaningful update to the Curvv ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) variants.

The refreshed Curvv gains a lighter dual-tone interior, dual-zone climate control, and rear window sunshades, improving both cabin comfort and premium appeal.

A More Premium Interior Experience

Spy images circulating online have revealed the updated Curvv’s refreshed cabin design, which adopts a light grey dual-tone interior theme replacing the previous darker colour scheme. This change brings an airier, more elegant look to the SUV’s cabin and aligns it more closely with Tata’s premium SUV lineup, such as the Harrier and Safari.

The seats have also been redesigned for improved comfort and ergonomics, offering better thigh and lumbar support for long drives. Tata’s attention to detail is visible in the new upholstery stitching and contrast accents, which add a sense of sophistication to the overall interior layout.

Two new features stand out in the latest update:

  • Dual-zone automatic climate control, allowing the driver and front passenger to set individual temperature preferences for improved comfort.
  • Rear window sunshades, a thoughtful addition for rear passengers, especially beneficial in India’s hot climate.

These enhancements further reinforce Tata’s focus on improving the passenger experience without altering the vehicle’s mechanical underpinnings.

Existing Features Carried Forward

The Tata Curvv was already among the most feature-loaded compact SUVs in its class. The updated model continues to offer an extensive equipment list that includes:

  • 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system
  • 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display
  • Ventilated front seats
  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Wireless charger
  • Auto-dimming IRVM
  • Ambient lighting

Safety continues to be a strong point, with Tata equipping the Curvv with six airbags (standard across variants), a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and a comprehensive ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) suite.

The Curvv’s design remains unchanged on the outside, retaining its signature coupe-SUV silhouette, LED light bar, and sleek taillamp setup, which have become key visual identifiers for the model.

No Changes to Engine or Transmission Options

Mechanically, the Tata Curvv remains identical to its previous version, continuing with the same turbo-petrol and diesel engine options. The specifications are as follows:

Engine TypePowerTorqueTransmission Options
1.2-litre Turbo-Petrol120 PS170 Nm6-speed MT / 7-speed DCT
1.2-litre T-GDi (Direct Injection Turbo-Petrol)125 PS225 Nm6-speed MT / 7-speed DCT
1.5-litre Diesel118 PS260 Nm6-speed MT / 7-speed DCT

Both automatic and manual transmissions continue to be available across multiple trims, offering flexibility for different driving preferences.

While no hybrid or EV powertrains have been announced for this update, Tata already sells the Curvv EV, which caters to electric vehicle buyers with segment-leading range and performance.

Tata Curvv Dark Edition

In addition to the standard variant, Tata continues to offer the Curvv Dark Edition, which features an all-black exterior and interior theme. This version comes with gloss black paint, black alloy wheels, and darker cabin finishes for a sportier look.

For enthusiasts or style-conscious buyers, the Dark Edition provides a distinct alternative to the standard Curvv’s lighter interior palette.

Pricing and Competition

The Tata Curvv is currently priced between Rs 9.67 lakh and Rs 18.85 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Despite the addition of new features, Tata has not yet announced any price revision, making the updated model even more value-packed.

In the competitive compact SUV segment, the Curvv rivals some of the most popular models in the country, including:

  • Hyundai Creta
  • Kia Seltos
  • Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara
  • Maruti Suzuki Victoris
  • Honda Elevate
  • Volkswagen Taigun

With its latest update, Tata aims to enhance the Curvv’s comfort quotient while maintaining its strong blend of style, safety, and performance. The additional features like dual-zone climate control and rear window sunshades align it more closely with its premium rivals, potentially widening its appeal to both family and enthusiast buyers.
