Renault is gearing up to make a big statement in India with the 2026 Renault Bigster, a spacious 7-seater SUV expected to launch around July 2026. Essentially a longer, three-row version of the new-generation Duster, the Bigster is designed to compete with established midsize SUVs like the Mahindra Scorpio-N and Tata Safari, offering a blend of practicality, modern features, and value-focused pricing.
Built on the CMF-B modular platform, which also underpins the new Duster, the Bigster stretches roughly 4.6 meters in length—around 30 cm longer than the Duster—to comfortably accommodate its third row of seats. While the global Dacia Bigster comes with five seats and a 667-litre boot, the Indian-spec version is expected to make slight compromises on boot space to fit seven passengers, making it a true family SUV.
Under the hood, the Bigster is likely to share its engines with the Duster, including a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system and a 1.6-litre strong-hybrid powertrain that combines petrol with dual electric motors for better fuel efficiency. Buyers can expect both manual and automatic transmission options, with an optional all-wheel-drive system on select variants, adding versatility for city and weekend drives.
Inside, the Bigster aims to impress with comfort and technology. It is expected to feature a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), bringing a modern touch to a family-focused SUV.
Renault is expected to price the Bigster between ₹13 lakh and ₹18 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a competitively priced alternative in the 7-seater midsize SUV segment.
