MG Motor India is gearing up to introduce an updated version of the Hector, and one of the biggest highlights will be the addition of a brand-new exterior colour called Celadon Blue. This shade is already available on the MG Windsor EV and will now join the Hector’s colour palette, giving buyers a fresh and more premium option.
New Colour & Cosmetic Tweaks
The 2025 update for the MG Hector is expected to include:
- A redesigned front grille with a bolder pattern
- Updated alloy wheels
- The new Celadon Blue exterior shade
These updates align with MG’s strategy of keeping the Hector modern and competitive in the midsize SUV segment.
Interior Updates Expected
While MG has not revealed cabin details yet, internal sources suggest:
- Revised upholstery
- Possible new dashboard trims
- Additional feature enhancements for higher variants
These changes are expected to make the cabin more premium and tech-focused, improving overall appeal.

Mechanical Changes Unlikely
Under the hood, no changes are expected. The Hector will continue with:
- 1.5-litre turbo-petrol
- 2.0-litre diesel (from Fiat)
Both engines should remain paired with the existing manual and automatic gearbox options.
Part of Hector’s Second Major Update
This will be the second major update for the Hector lineup since its 2019 launch.
Key milestones:
- 2019: Hector introduced as a 5-seater
- 2020: Hector Plus launched as a 6/7-seater
- 2023: First major facelift
The upcoming update is expected to refresh both the Hector and the Hector Plus.
Competition
With this revision, the MG Hector will continue to rival:
- Tata Harrier / Safari
- Mahindra XUV700
- Hyundai Alcazar
- Jeep Compass / Meridian
The addition of Celadon Blue and refreshed styling is likely aimed at strengthening Hector’s presence in this highly competitive SUV space.
