The Mahindra XUV700, one of India’s most popular premium SUVs, is gearing up for a mid-cycle refresh as it nears the end of its fourth year in the market. Fresh spy shots have surfaced online, offering the first glimpse of the updated model. While the exterior is set to receive subtle tweaks, the interior is expected to undergo a significant transformation — aligning it closer to Mahindra’s next-generation electric SUVs.
Mahindra XUV700 Facelift: Exterior Design Updates
From the latest test mule images, it’s clear that Mahindra is keeping the XUV700’s overall design intact, focusing primarily on revising the soft plastic elements rather than changing major body panels. The front fascia is expected to feature a redesigned grille with larger air inlets, giving it a bolder and more aerodynamic look. The SUV also appears to sport a fresh twin-pod LED headlamp setup, complemented by a redesigned LED DRL signature.

At the rear, Mahindra could introduce connected LED tail-lamps, a popular design trend among modern SUVs, along with a reprofiled bumper for added sophistication. The side profile remains largely unchanged, retaining the signature muscular stance of the XUV700, though the alloy wheels will receive a new aero-optimised design.
Interior: Borrowing from the Born-Electric Range
Inside, the 2026 Mahindra XUV700 facelift is expected to see the most dramatic transformation. Reports suggest that the cabin will borrow design cues and technology from Mahindra’s upcoming Born Electric (BE) SUV lineup — particularly the XUV.e9 and BE.09.
The dashboard could house a triple-screen digital setup, seamlessly integrating the driver display, infotainment system, and a third passenger-side screen — a layout similar to that seen in modern electric SUVs. Mahindra is also likely to upgrade the materials and textures inside, offering a more premium experience with improved upholstery, new ambient lighting themes, and updated switchgear.
In terms of features, we can expect the XUV700 to retain its expansive ADAS suite, 3D audio system, panoramic sunroof, and dual-zone climate control, but with the addition of new connected car tech and enhanced infotainment functionality.

Powertrain and Launch Timeline
Mechanically, the facelifted XUV700 is expected to continue with the current set of engines — the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and the 2.2-litre diesel, paired with both manual and automatic transmission options. However, Mahindra may fine-tune these engines for improved efficiency and refinement.
The Mahindra XUV700 facelift is slated for a launch in the first half of 2026, likely following the debut of the production-ready Mahindra BE.05 EV. Once launched, it will continue to compete against the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, and MG Hector Plus, while setting new benchmarks in technology and comfort within its segment.
