Mahindra has released a new teaser for its upcoming electric SUV, the XEV 9S, ahead of its India Mahindradebut on 27 November. The latest teaser highlights several interior upgrades and technology features, adding to the excitement around Mahindra’s first three-row electric SUV.
What the New Teaser Reveals
The teaser showcases several premium features, including:
- Harman Kardon sound system
- Triple-screen dashboard layout
- All-black interior theme
- Window and mirror controls on the door pad
- Driver’s seat with memory function
- Dedicated AC vents for the second row
These elements hint at a strong focus on in-cabin tech, comfort, and an overall premium experience.
Mahindra’s First Three-Row EV
The XEV 9S marks Mahindra’s entry into the three-row electric SUV segment. Originally previewed as the XUV.e8 and later referred to as the XEV 7e, the production-ready model is based on Mahindra’s advanced INGLO platform—a dedicated architecture for future EVs.
While it borrows certain design cues from the XUV700, the XEV 9S is built from the ground up as a born-electric vehicle.
Powertrain and Expected Specs
Based on its coupe-SUV sibling, the XEV 9e, the XEV 9S is expected to feature:
- 282 bhp / 380 Nm electric motor
- LFP battery pack
- Rear-wheel-drive layout (expected)

Mahindra is likely to price the XEV 9S between ₹21 lakh and ₹30 lakh, placing it directly in competition with:
