
Mahindra has launched the all-new XEV 9S in India, marking its entry into the three-row electric SUV segment. Priced from Rs 19.95 lakh (ex-showroom), the XEV 9S becomes Mahindra’s first seven-seat EV and the largest model in its electric portfolio, positioned alongside the XEV 9e, BE 6 and XUV400.
Design and Exterior Highlights
The XEV 9S adopts a clean electric-focused design featuring:
- Blanked-off grille
- L-shaped LED DRLs with vertically stacked projector headlamps
- Full-width LED light bar
- Flush door handles
- Aero-style alloy wheels
- Roof rails and shark-fin antenna
- Mahindra Electric badging
Interior and Features
The cabin is configured for seven passengers and offers a premium feature list, including:
- Panoramic sunroof
- Triple-screen dashboard layout
- Rear-seat entertainment screens
- Harman Kardon audio system
- Boss Mode with powered front passenger seat adjustment
- Powered tailgate and 150-litre frunk
- Ambient lighting and auto-dimming IRVM
- Reclining second-row seats
- Two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel

Drive and performance features include four drive modes (Everyday, Race, Range, Snow), five regeneration levels and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold.
Powertrain and Performance
The XEV 9S is available with three battery options:
- 59kWh: 228bhp, 380Nm
- 70kWh: 241bhp, 380Nm
- 79kWh: 282bhp, 380Nm
Mahindra claims a 0-100kmph time of 7 seconds, depending on the variant. All configurations feature a single-motor setup and rear-wheel drive.
