Lexus Recalls LM, LX, NX, RX, and LS Models Over Parking Assist Software Issue

Lexus India has issued a voluntary recall for select units of its LM, LX, LS, NX, and RX models due to a software issue in the Parking Assist ECU, which is part of the Panoramic View Monitor (360-degree camera) system. The recall affects a total of 1,588 units across the brand’s luxury lineup.

Recall Details

The recall is intended to reprogram the software that manages the 360-degree camera system, which could potentially display incorrect rear-view images in certain situations. Lexus clarified that no incidents or malfunctions have been reported in India so far, and the campaign is being conducted as a preventive safety measure.

Here’s a breakdown of the affected models and their production periods:

  • Lexus LM: 258 units (April 2024 – August 2025)
  • Lexus LX: 136 units (August 2022 – July 2025)
  • Lexus LS: 6 units (November 2022 – August 2023)
  • Lexus NX: 443 units (November 2021 – February 2025)
  • Lexus RX: 745 units (May 2022 – June 2025)

Customer Communication

Lexus India has confirmed that Relationship Managers will personally contact affected owners to schedule the software update, which will be performed free of cost at authorized Lexus service centers.

Additional Context

This recall closely follows a similar campaign by Toyota India, Lexus’s parent company, which recalled models such as the Camry, Vellfire, and Land Cruiser to address the same software-related issue.

Lexus reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction across its product range.
