Kia has officially unveiled the second-generation Telluride, its flagship ICE-powered SUV, marking a major leap in design and technology. The new Telluride comes with a completely overhauled exterior and interior while retaining its strong and practical SUV DNA. Although the brand has yet to reveal powertrain details, the model is set to make its public debut at the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show later this month.
Highlights
- Completely redesigned exterior and interior
- Increased dimensions: length +58mm, wheelbase +76mm, height +25mm
- Expected to feature an AWD setup
- To be showcased at the 2025 LA Auto Show
Exterior Design: Bolder, Boxier, and More Premium
The new-generation Kia Telluride sports a tougher and more contemporary design, aligning it with Kia’s global lineup that includes the Carnival, Sorento, and Sportage. The front now features an all-black grille with rectangular inserts, giving it a bold and intimidating appearance.
The headlights have also been redesigned with a longer housing that integrates two vertically stacked LED DRLs, which double as turn indicators, and pixel-style projector headlamps. The rugged front bumper with orange tow hooks adds a functional yet eye-catching contrast.
From the side, the Telluride maintains its boxy silhouette but introduces flush-type door handles for the first time, enhancing aerodynamics and visual appeal. The X-Pro trim stands out with all-terrain tyres, while other variants will continue with standard road-focused tyres.

The rear gets a cleaner, more sophisticated look with elongated LED taillamps, minimal body creases, and Telluride lettering across the tailgate. The rear bumper mirrors the front design with orange tow hooks for a consistent off-road theme.
Dimensionally, the new Telluride has grown—58mm longer, 76mm wider in wheelbase, and 25mm taller—offering a roomier and more planted stance on the road.
Interior Design: Modern, Spacious, and Tech-Focused
The interior of the new Telluride represents a major step forward in Kia’s cabin design philosophy. It now offers a minimalistic yet premium layout, blending modern technology with comfort.
A three-screen dashboard setup dominates the cabin, reminiscent of the design seen in the Kia Syros. This configuration includes a fully digital driver’s display, a central infotainment touchscreen, and an additional co-driver information screen. The 3-spoke steering wheel with the offset Kia logo adds to the futuristic appeal.

The interior can be configured with dual-tone color themes and uses premium soft-touch materials throughout. Comfort remains a priority with seven seats, including captain chairs in the second row. Both the front and middle-row seats offer power adjustments for added convenience.
Storage has been well thought out with a massive central armrest, which features cupholders beneath a sliding lid, a small cubby for personal items, and a cooled compartment for refreshments.
Other notable features include:
- Dual sunroof setup (single-pane for the front, panoramic for rear passengers)
- Dual wireless smartphone chargers
- 360-degree surround camera
- Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
These upgrades collectively give the Telluride a luxury SUV feel, rivaling premium brands in terms of comfort and practicality.
Powertrain: Details Yet to Be Revealed
Kia has not disclosed the engine options for the second-generation Telluride yet. However, the previous model was powered by a 3.8-litre V6 petrol engine producing 291hp and 355Nm, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and an AWD option.

Given Kia’s trend toward electrification and enhanced performance, the new Telluride may receive refined petrol and hybrid options, potentially paired with an updated AWD drivetrain.
Global Markets and Availability
The Kia Telluride remains primarily targeted at North American customers, where it enjoys strong sales. Additionally, it is also available in select Middle Eastern markets, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Oman.
Interestingly, the Telluride is not sold in South Korea, as the domestic market offers its Hyundai sibling, the Palisade. Globally, the Telluride continues to compete with SUVs such as the Mazda CX-90, Honda Pilot, Ford Explorer, Nissan Pathfinder, and Toyota Highlander.
The 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show, scheduled between November 21–30, will serve as the official showcase for the new Telluride, where Kia is expected to reveal full specifications and variant details.
