Honda has officially confirmed the launch of the Elevate EV in India, marking the brand’s entry into the country’s electric SUV space. This will be Honda’s first fully electric SUV for Indian buyers, with the launch expected around 2026.
The Honda Elevate EV will be based on the existing petrol-powered Elevate SUV but will receive EV-specific updates to set it apart. These are expected to include a closed front grille, revised bumpers, aerodynamic alloy wheels, and subtle design touches that highlight its electric identity. Despite these changes, the SUV will continue to focus on practicality, space, and everyday comfort, making it a five-seater family-friendly vehicle.
One of the key highlights of the upcoming Elevate EV is its expected driving range of up to 500 km on a single charge. This should make it suitable not just for daily city commuting but also for longer highway drives. While Honda has not yet shared battery details, fast-charging support and regenerative braking are expected to be part of the package.
On the feature front, the Honda ElevateEV is likely to offer a modern and tech-rich cabin. Expected highlights include advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), a large touchscreen infotainment system, connected car features, a digital instrument cluster, and multiple safety technologies. Honda may also introduce V2X technology, enhancing connectivity and convenience.
Importantly, Honda has confirmed that the Elevate EV will be manufactured in India, with high localisation planned to keep prices competitive. India will also serve as a production hub for global markets.
Expected to be priced between ₹14 lakh and ₹18 lakh (ex-showroom), the Honda Elevate EV will compete with models like the Mahindra BE 6 and MG Windsor EV in the mid-size electric SUV segment.
