Hero MotoCorp has sparked major speculation about its entry into the four-wheeler segment after unveiling three new Vida concepts—including a compact electric car. The two-seater Vida Nex 3 appears designed for dense urban environments, addressing mobility challenges with its small footprint and minimal seating layout.
A First Look at the Vida Nex 3
The Vida Nex 3 concept carries a futuristic design language and a highly modern, tech-forward cabin. One standout feature showcased is its modular centre console, which can be configured with either a rectangular or circular information cluster, offering flexibility in design and UI.

Why Compact Urban Cars Are Needed
Tier-1 cities routinely battle traffic congestion, limited road space, and inadequate infrastructure. While two-wheelers offer convenience, they are not ideal for every demographic—especially in extreme weather conditions like Mumbai’s hot summers.
At the same time, the market is dominated by larger C-segment SUVs, which aren’t always the best choice for short daily commutes. Compact electric cars like the Nex 3 could present a more practical, space-efficient solution.

Two-Wheeler Giants Exploring the 4W Space
With Ola Electric filing a patent earlier for a compact EV powered by 4680 cells, Hero MotoCorp’s Vida concepts mark a notable shift. If these prototypes progress to production, they could help create a new micro-mobility segment in India—affordable, compact EVs ideal for urban commuting.

This move may also encourage other major two-wheeler manufacturers to explore the small electric car space, potentially reshaping the market landscape.
