BMW Z4 Final Edition Revealed – Last Production Run Ends in 2026

BMW has officially unveiled the Z4 Final Edition, a special farewell variant that marks the end of the iconic two-seat roadster’s production run. With manufacturing scheduled to conclude in March 2026, global bookings for the Final Edition are expected to begin in late January, making this one of the last chances for enthusiasts to purchase the Z4 in its current form.

A Distinctive, Darker Exterior

BMW has given the Z4 a dramatically refreshed appearance for its final outing. The Final Edition sports an exclusive Frozen Matte Black paint scheme, complemented by BMW Extended Shadowline trim. Gloss-black accents highlight the grille, air intakes, window surrounds, and exhaust tips, giving the convertible a sharper, more aggressive presence.

Further enhancing the sportier look are red M Sport brake callipers, which stand out strikingly against the matte exterior.

Cabin Updates: Sporty, Premium, and Collectible

Inside, the Z4 Final Edition adopts a black-and-red performance theme. The cabin features:

  • Vernasca leather + Alcantara sports seats
  • Red contrast stitching on the dashboard, door pads, and centre console
  • Alcantara-wrapped M steering wheel with matching stitching
  • Final Edition–exclusive door sill plates

These special touches elevate the Z4’s cabin and reinforce its status as a limited-run collector’s car.

Powertrain: No Changes Under the Hood

BMW has retained the existing powertrain lineup without mechanical updates. Globally, the Z4 Final Edition will continue with:

  • 2.0L turbo-petrol (197hp)
  • 2.0L turbo-petrol (258hp)
  • 3.0L inline-six turbo-petrol (335hp) — the enthusiast-favourite M40i variant

All engines are paired with an automatic transmission, while some international markets will still offer a 6-speed manual for the M40i.

A Farewell to BMW’s Roadster Era

With no successor confirmed for the Z4, the Final Edition essentially represents the end of BMW’s traditional two-seat convertible lineage. The growing industry shift toward SUVs and EVs has made roadsters a niche category, making this edition even more significant among enthusiasts and collectors.

India Availability

The BMW Z4 continues to be sold in India in two variants:

  • Z4 M40i – ₹87.90 lakh (ex-showroom)
  • Z4 Pure Impulse Edition (6-speed manual) – ₹92.60 lakh (ex-showroom)

While BMW India has not yet confirmed whether the Final Edition will be introduced locally, global demand and limited production suggest very limited allocation, if any.
