Porsche Cayenne Electric vs Rivals: Price, Range, and Specs Compared

November 22, 2025

Porsche has launched the Cayenne Electric in India, and in Turbo form with 1,156hp, it becomes the most powerful production Porsche ever. Bookings are now open, and deliveries will begin in the second half of 2026. Positioned as a flagship luxury EV SUV, the Cayenne Electric rivals the BMW iX, Audi Q8 e-tron, Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV and the Lotus Electre. Here’s a detailed comparison across dimensions, battery, power, range and charging.

Dimensions Compared

The Mercedes EQS SUV is the longest and the only 7-seater among the group.
The Cayenne Electric measures under 5m like the iX and Q8 e-tron, while the Electre and EQS exceed this mark. Porsche offers the largest usable boot (781 litres) and the largest frunk (90 litres). The Audi boasts the highest ground clearance at 228mm, while the EQS SUV is the heaviest at over 2.8 tonnes.

Battery, Power, and Range

All SUVs use a dual-motor AWD setup.
The Cayenne Electric delivers the highest output: 1,156hp and 1,150Nm in Turbo form. Even the standard variant, at 408hp, edges past several rivals on torque. The Lotus Electre follows closely with up to 925hp. The BMW iX and EQS SUV offer strong performance, while the Q8 e-tron 50 variant is the least powerful.

Acceleration figures reflect the power gap. The Cayenne Electric Turbo claims 0–100kph in 2.5 seconds. The Electre R is also sub-3 seconds, while the standard Electre, iX and EQS SUV sit in the mid-4-second bracket.

In terms of range, the EQS SUV leads with up to 820km claimed. The Cayenne Electric comes next at up to 642km, followed by the Electre and Q8 e-tron depending on variant.

Charging Speeds

The Cayenne Electric supports ultra-fast 400kW DC charging, doing 10–80 percent in just 16 minutes, making it the fastest charger here. The Lotus Electre is next with 350kW support. Audi, BMW and Mercedes offer DC charging in the 170–200kW range with 30–35-minute 10–80 percent times.

Uniquely, Porsche offers wireless inductive charging at 11kW via a floor plate system.

Price Comparison

Pricing places the Cayenne Electric firmly in the premium performance EV segment.
The standard variant starts at Rs 1.76 crore, while the Turbo begins at Rs 2.26 crore. The Lotus Electre is the costliest overall, while the Audi Q8 e-tron is the most affordable entry point into this comparison. The EQS SUV and BMW iX sit mid-pack.

The Cayenne Electric’s combination of extreme performance, fast charging and Porsche engineering positions it as a benchmark among luxury electric SUVs.
