Citroen Sales Surge in October 2025 as C3 Records 199 Percent YoY Growth

Citroen India may still be a low-volume player compared to mainstream brands, but October 2025 marked one of its strongest months yet. The company recorded significant growth driven by its refreshed product lineup and the positive impact of the GST rate cut. With a market share of 0.3 percent, Citroen currently offers the C3 hatchback, C3 Aircross SUV, Basalt coupe-SUV, C5 Aircross, and the eC3 electric hatchback.

YoY and MoM Sales Performance

Citroen reported 1,426 units in October 2025, nearly doubling its performance with a 99 percent YoY increase from 717 units in October 2024. Month on month, the brand registered a 94 percent jump over 734 units sold in September 2025. The overall sales surge can be credited to strong festive season demand and portfolio-wide price reductions after the GST revision. The brand has also strengthened its lineup under the “Shift Into the New” Citroen 2.0 strategy, introducing the Aircross X, Basalt X, and the new C3X.

Model-wise Sales Breakdown – October 2025

C3 Hatchback
The C3 remained Citroen’s highest-selling model with 897 units, growing 199 percent YoY and doubling MoM over 448 units in September. This model continues to anchor Citroen’s momentum in the entry-level segment.

C3 Aircross
The SUV posted 227 units, registering 120 percent YoY growth and an exceptional 285 percent MoM increase. Both the C3 Aircross and Basalt appeared on the list of top SUVs in the 4.2 to 4.4 metre category.

Basalt
The Basalt contributed 217 units, showing a minor 2 percent YoY decline but a steady 3 percent MoM gain compared to September. It continues to build interest despite increasing competition in the coupe-SUV segment.

eC3 Electric Hatchback
The eC3 recorded 83 units, a 7 percent YoY decrease, but witnessed a sharp 388 percent MoM jump from just 18 units in September. Demand appears to be recovering as EV incentives and festive offers take effect.

C5 Aircross
With only 2 units sold, the premium SUV saw a 50 percent YoY decline and recorded zero sales in September.

Citroen’s Growing Momentum

Citroen India’s performance in October indicates that the brand’s long-term strategy is finally paying off. Sharper pricing after the GST revision, new product updates, and enhanced visibility through its partnership with MS Dhoni have collectively strengthened its market presence.

Models like the C3 and C3 Aircross are gaining traction among value-driven buyers, while new offerings such as Basalt are drawing steady interest. Continued expansion of the dealer network, better after-sales support, and ongoing competitive pricing could help Citroen maintain this positive momentum in the coming months.
