Toyota’s Urban Cruiser Hyryder has achieved a major milestone by outselling the iconic Innova for the first time in October 2025. With 11,555 units sold, the Hyryder posted its best-ever monthly performance, marking a massive 201 percent year-on-year (YoY) growth. This narrowly surpassed the combined sales of the Innova Hycross and Innova Crysta, which stood at 11,294 units.
This achievement came during a record-breaking month for Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), which delivered 33,809 SUVs and MPVs—its highest-ever monthly dispatch and a 61 percent YoY increase.
Hyryder Sales Surge in October 2025
- 201 percent YoY growth
- Accounted for 34 percent of Toyota’s record UV sales
- Achieved all-time high of 11,555 units
- Nears major milestone of 200,000 cumulative sales
Since its debut in September 2022, the Hyryder has maintained strong momentum. It previously recorded its best monthly sales in August 2025 with 9,100 units. With lifetime sales already crossing 160,000 units, the Hyryder is now on the verge of hitting the 2,00,000-unit mark.
Developed jointly with Maruti Suzuki as the sibling model to the Grand Vitara, the Hyryder has become Toyota’s most successful rebadged product. It offers an impressive claimed fuel efficiency of 27.97kmpl, making it one of the segment’s most economical SUVs. Prices range from ₹10.95 lakh to ₹19.57 lakh (ex-showroom).
The model’s consistent growth reflects strong demand for feature-rich, fuel-efficient midsize SUVs, a segment where the Hyryder continues to excel.

Hyryder vs Innova: Purpose, Price & Market Dynamics
Together, the Hyryder and Innova twins contributed 67 percent of Toyota’s record festive-season UV sales.
Despite sharing showroom space, the two nameplates cater to distinctly different buyers:
- Toyota Hyryder: 5-seater midsize SUV, hybrid-focused, urban-friendly
- Innova Hycross/Crysta: 7/8-seater MPVs focused on comfort and people-moving capability
There is also a significant price difference of over ₹12 lakh between their top hybrid variants, placing them in clearly separated market brackets.
