Kia has officially taken the wraps off the second-generation Telluride SUV, unveiling an all-new design language, a roomier cabin, and upgraded off-road capabilities. The global premiere of the new Telluride will take place later this month at the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show, marking a significant evolution for Kia’s flagship three-row SUV.
Bigger, Sharper, and More Sophisticated Design
The 2026 Kia Telluride moves away from its curvier predecessor in favor of a more upright, squared-off design. The SUV now sports vertical LED headlamps that frame a bold, rectangular grille, giving it a more commanding front fascia.
Kia designers have emphasized cleaner, linear surfaces around the bonnet and fenders, creating a sharper and more modern profile. The silhouette is boxier, complemented by geometric wheel designs and large, squared wheel arches, lending the SUV a rugged yet refined presence.
At the rear, the styling continues the vertical theme with tall LED tail-lamps placed at the edges, enhancing the Telluride’s width. The “Telluride” badge is now spread low across the tailgate, adding a touch of understated elegance.
Refined, Tech-Laden Interior
Inside, the new Telluride’s cabin adopts a more minimalist and horizontal layout. A wide touchscreen infotainment unit and a digital instrument cluster are now housed within a single, connected panel that dominates the dashboard.

The centre console has been redesigned with a cleaner look, featuring physical toggle switches for climate control, drive modes, and seat functions. A flat storage deck positioned below the console includes dual wireless charging pads, while a set of recessed cupholders adds to the practicality.
Overall, the cabin’s updated design prioritizes space, visibility, and user convenience, ensuring a more premium driving experience.
X-Pro Trim Adds Rugged Appeal
For those seeking adventure, Kia continues to offer the X-Pro trim, which now comes with a more aggressive, blacked-out exterior package. This variant includes matte black cladding on the wheel arches and mirrors, a mesh-pattern grille, and a darkened lower bumper.
Functionally, the Telluride X-Pro gets increased ground clearance (231 mm), all-terrain tyres, and front and rear recovery hooks, highlighting its dual character as both a family SUV and a capable off-roader.
Powertrain Expectations
While Kia has not officially announced the new Telluride’s engine and drivetrain details, it is expected to share its underpinnings with the Hyundai Palisade. This means the SUV will likely be offered with a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine and a 2.5-litre hybrid setup, paired with an automatic transmission and optional all-wheel drive.
Kia may also introduce mild-hybrid technology in select global markets to enhance fuel efficiency and performance.
