Maserati Grecale Folgore India Launch: Price Starts at ₹1.89 Crore

Maserati has officially launched the Grecale Folgore in India — marking the debut of the Italian luxury brand’s first all-electric SUV in the country. Priced at ₹1.89 crore (ex-showroom, without options), the Grecale Folgore joins Maserati’s expanding India lineup as a stylish, high-performance EV with Italian flair and cutting-edge technology.

Powertrain and Performance

The Maserati Grecale Folgore is powered by a 105kWh battery pack paired with dual electric motors, delivering a combined output of 550hp and 820Nm of torque. This setup enables the SUV to sprint from 0–100km/h in just 4.1 seconds, with a top speed of around 220km/h.

The Folgore (which means lightning in Italian) supports ultra-fast DC charging, allowing up to 150kW of charging speed that can replenish 80% of the battery in approximately 30 minutes. Maserati claims a range of up to 500km (WLTP cycle) on a full charge, depending on driving conditions.

Exterior Design and Styling

Staying true to Maserati’s signature design language, the Grecale Folgore combines elegance with aerodynamic efficiency. It features a closed-off grille, LED matrix headlamps, sleek coupe-like silhouette, and flush door handles, giving it a futuristic yet sophisticated appeal.

The SUV also rides on 21-inch alloy wheels, while subtle copper accents — a hallmark of Maserati’s Folgore range — highlight its electric identity.

Luxurious Interior and Technology

Inside, the Grecale Folgore offers a luxurious cabin wrapped in sustainable materials, such as Econyl, a regenerated nylon made from recycled waste. The dashboard is dominated by a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, a 8.8-inch comfort display, and a digital driver’s cluster for intuitive control.

Maserati’s latest infotainment system integrates wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice assistant support, and over-the-air updates. The SUV also gets a Sonus Faber 21-speaker 3D audio system, offering a premium listening experience that complements the quiet electric drive.

Variants and Price Comparison

In India, the Maserati Grecale lineup now includes both ICE and EV variants:

  • Grecale GT (Petrol): ₹1.31 crore
  • Grecale Modena (Petrol): ₹1.40 crore
  • Grecale Trofeo (Petrol): ₹1.96 crore
  • Grecale Folgore (Electric): ₹1.89 crore

Interestingly, the Folgore EV is ₹10 lakh cheaper than the top-spec Trofeo, offering similar performance levels with zero tailpipe emissions.

Competition and Market Outlook

With its entry into the Indian luxury EV market, the Maserati Grecale Folgore will compete against models like the BMW iX, Audi Q8 e-tron, Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV, and Jaguar I-Pace.

The Grecale Folgore serves as the first step in Maserati’s electrification journey, as the brand plans to introduce an all-electric lineup by 2030, including future Folgore versions of the GranTurismo, MC20, and Levante.
