Volkswagen Virtus Sets New Sales Record in October 2025

The Volkswagen Virtus has reached a significant milestone by achieving its highest-ever monthly sales of 2,453 units in October 2025, setting a new benchmark for the brand in India. With this achievement, the Virtus now holds an impressive 40 per cent market share in the highly competitive mid-size sedan segment — a clear indication of its strong acceptance among Indian customers.

Since its launch nearly 40 months ago, the Virtus has carved out a niche for itself as a premium, feature-rich sedan that combines elegant styling with Volkswagen’s hallmark German engineering. The car’s design language, marked by clean lines and a sporty stance, continues to appeal to younger buyers who seek sophistication without compromising on performance.

Under the hood, the Virtus is powered by two turbocharged petrol engine options — the 1.0L TSI and the 1.5L TSI EVO — both tuned for spirited yet efficient performance. The larger engine, featuring Active Cylinder Technology (ACT), smartly shuts off two cylinders during light-load driving to optimise fuel consumption, ensuring a perfect balance between power and efficiency.

Inside, the Virtus offers a tech-forward cabin with a 10-inch infotainment system, digital cockpit, ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone connectivity, and a premium sound system — all tailored to meet modern customer expectations. Its segment-leading boot space, top-tier safety features, and five-star Global NCAP safety rating further reinforce its reputation as a well-rounded family sedan.

Volkswagen’s emphasis on localisation, after-sales support, and service accessibility has also played a crucial role in the Virtus’ growing success. The carmaker’s India 2.0 strategy, driven by its Chakan-based production facility and shared MQB-A0-IN platform, has enabled more competitive pricing and better supply chain efficiency.

Speaking on the occasion, a Volkswagen India spokesperson highlighted, “The Virtus’ performance reflects the growing trust Indian customers have in the Volkswagen brand. We remain committed to delivering cars that blend safety, technology, and performance in a way that truly resonates with our market.”

With the record-breaking performance in October 2025, the Virtus not only cements its position as Volkswagen’s top-selling sedan in India but also strengthens the brand’s long-term vision to be a leading player in the premium compact car space. As the company looks ahead to 2026, further product updates and special editions could help the Virtus sustain its strong momentum and continue its success story.
