The Tata Sierra, one of India’s most nostalgic nameplates, is all set for a grand revival later this month. The all-new model blends modern SUV design with futuristic tech and sustainable materials. It will feature premium interiors, ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, and multiple powertrain options, including turbo-petrol, diesel, and electric. The Sierra’s bold styling and 3-screen digital layout (as teased by Tata) make it a strong contender in the Creta segment.

2. New-Gen Kia Seltos — Launching December 2025

The second-generation Kia Seltos is expected to arrive by the end of 2025. Building on the success of its predecessor, it will sport a sharper design, larger infotainment system, enhanced connectivity features, and a more refined cabin. While the engine options are expected to remain similar, Kia plans to introduce a hybrid powertrain by 2027, enhancing fuel efficiency and reducing emissions.

3. Maruti e Vitara — Brand’s First Electric SUV

Maruti Suzuki is set to make a landmark move into the EV space with the launch of its first all-electric SUV, the e Vitara, in December 2025. The EV will be offered with two battery pack options, delivering a range of over 500 km on a single charge. Based on Suzuki’s global EV platform, it will also feature fast-charging capability, regenerative braking, and advanced connected tech, positioning it as a key rival to the upcoming Creta EV.

4. New-Gen Renault Duster — Returning January 26, 2026

The legendary Renault Duster is staging a comeback in January 2026, reimagined as a more premium and feature-packed SUV. The new Duster, based on the CMF-B modular platform, will come with multiple engine options, including 1.2L turbo-petrol and hybrid setups. With modern interiors, ADAS features, and a bold, muscular stance, the 2026 Duster aims to revive Renault’s position in the Indian market.

5. Skoda Kushaq Facelift — Early 2026 Debut

The Skoda Kushaq is expected to receive its first major facelift in early 2026, bringing styling tweaks, upgraded materials, and new tech features. The facelift will likely include ADAS Level 2 functionalities, a 360-degree camera, wireless smartphone integration, and subtle exterior enhancements. It will continue to be powered by the proven 1.0L and 1.5L TSI turbo-petrol engines.

6. Volkswagen Taigun Facelift — To Follow the Kushaq

The Volkswagen Taigun, a sibling to the Skoda Kushaq, will also receive a facelift around the same time in early 2026. Updates will mirror those of the Kushaq, including a refreshed dashboard, new safety tech, upgraded infotainment, and mild exterior refinements. The Taigun facelift will retain the solid build quality and performance-oriented TSI engines that Volkswagen is known for.

7. Nissan Tekton — Duster’s Twin Arrives in 2026

The Nissan Tekton, the Japanese automaker’s version of the new Renault Duster, is expected to arrive in the first half of 2026. Built on the same CMF-B platform, it will share most components with the Duster but feature a distinct design language and Nissan-specific interiors. The Tekton will target a similar audience looking for rugged looks, modern features, and multiple powertrain options — including hybrid variants.

A New Era for Midsize SUVs

The next 12 months promise to redefine India’s midsize SUV market. With the arrival of next-gen models and advanced EVs, buyers can expect a wider variety of designs, technologies, and performance options. The Hyundai Creta may continue to lead, but the competition is stronger than ever — ensuring an exciting future for SUV enthusiasts in India.
