BMW is ready to roll out its refreshed 2026 iX, with production starting in March 2025. This update brings a host of improvements to the flagship electric SUV, including more power, longer range, and a refined design that enhances both style and comfort.
The new iX lineup includes three variants: xDrive45, xDrive60, and the top-of-the-line M70. The M70 steals the spotlight with a stunning 659 hp, offering exhilarating performance for those who crave speed and presence. The xDrive60 delivers 536 hp, while the entry-level xDrive45 balances power and efficiency with 402 hp. There’s now an iX for nearly every type of driver.
Range and charging have also taken a leap forward. The xDrive60 can cover up to 701 km (about 435 miles) on a single charge, according to WLTP ratings. Fast charging is faster than ever too: the 60 and M70 variants can reach up to 195 kW, taking the battery from 10% to 80% in roughly 30 minutes under ideal conditions.
The exterior receives subtle but impactful updates, including a sharper grille, updated taillight animations, and fresh wheel designs that give the SUV a modern, dynamic look. Inside, BMW has focused on comfort and technology. The cabin features new upholstery options, M Sport seats, and the signature floating infotainment display with a crystal-style iDrive controller. For an added touch of luxury, an optional electrochromic panoramic sunroof lets you switch between transparent and opaque at a button press.
Sustainability is also a key focus, with increased use of recycled materials and a more efficient heat pump. With production about to begin, the 2026 BMW iX blends performance, technology, and eco-conscious design, making it one of the most compelling electric SUVs on the market.
