Maserati has officially entered the electric SUV space with the introduction of the Grecale Folgore, the brand’s first fully electric SUV and a major step in its transition toward electrified performance. First unveiled in March 2024, the electric Grecale has since begun rolling out in global markets, including India, where it arrived in late 2025. The Folgore combines Maserati’s signature Italian luxury with high-performance electric technology and modern innovation.
At its core, the Grecale Folgore features a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup that delivers an output of around 550 hp and 820 Nm of torque. This allows the electric SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds, while its top speed is rated at 220 km/h—strong performance figures for a mid-size electric SUV. Power is supplied by a large 105 kWh battery pack, which offers a claimed driving range of up to 501 km on a single charge, placing it firmly among the more performance-focused electric SUVs on the market. The model supports up to 22 kW AC charging and 150 kW DC fast charging, enabling quicker top-ups when needed.
For the Indian market, Maserati has positioned the Grecale Folgore at an ex-showroom price of approximately ₹1.89 crore. This pricing aligns it closely with the higher-end petrol versions of the Grecale, offering customers a fully electric alternative without compromising on luxury or performance. It sits just below the petrol-powered Trofeo variant while maintaining a premium stance compared to several rivals in the segment.
In terms of design, the Folgore stays true to the familiar Grecale silhouette, featuring subtle electric-specific elements that set it apart from its combustion-engine counterparts. These include specially designed aerodynamic wheels, distinctive Folgore badges, and unique brake calipers. Inside, the cabin layout remains largely unchanged but is enhanced with EV-focused features and updated digital interfaces that highlight its advanced electric powertrain.
The arrival of the Grecale Folgore highlights Maserati’s growing focus on electrification as it expands its electric portfolio. By blending performance, luxury, and electric efficiency, the Grecale Folgore plays a crucial role in the brand’s strategy, especially as demand for premium electric SUVs continues to rise across global markets.
