New Kia Seltos Unveiled in India: Design, Features, Engines & Expected Price

Kia has officially taken the wraps off the second-generation Kia Seltos in India, ahead of its market launch in early 2026. The popular mid-size SUV enters a brand-new generation with a comprehensive redesign, more features, a larger footprint, and upgraded technology. Bookings begin on 10 December, while prices will be revealed on 2 January 2026.

The new model will be available across HTE, HTK, HTX, GT-Line, and X-Line trims, and will continue to feature three engine options, including naturally aspirated, turbo-petrol, and diesel choices.

Exterior Design: Sharper, Larger, More Modern

The 2026 Seltos adopts Kia’s latest global design language, featuring:

  • A new Tiger Nose grille with a more upright stance
  • Redesigned bumper with wider intakes and a sleeker front profile
  • Pop-out flush door handles, marking a major technological upgrade
  • Aero-focused alloy wheels inspired by the Carens and Carens Clavis EV
  • A connected vertical LED tail-lamp signature that completely refreshes the rear identity
  • Increased body dimensions with a stronger SUV posture

Notably, the Seltos now measures 4.46 metres in length (up from 4.36m), giving it one of the largest road presences in its segment.

Interior: A Major Step-Up in Design & Comfort

Inside, the new Seltos has undergone a substantial transformation. Borrowing inspiration from the Carens Clavis, it now features:

  • A dual 12.3-inch display setup (infotainment + digital cluster)
  • Newly designed three-spoke steering wheel
  • Redesigned centre console with added storage
  • Premium colour themes borrowed from Kia’s latest cabins
  • Panoramic sunroof, a first for the Seltos
  • 447-litre boot with a powered tailgate
  • More spacious second row with 60:40 split and recline function

The increased 2,690mm wheelbase (up by 80mm) directly improves legroom and cabin comfort.

Features: Loaded as Always, Now Even More Premium

Kia is known for packing its SUVs with high-value features. The new Seltos continues this tradition with:

Tech & Convenience

  • Bose premium sound system
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • Head-up display (HUD)
  • Advanced ambient lighting
  • Kia Connect connected car suite
  • Powered driver’s seat
  • Ventilated front seats (likely on higher trims)

Safety

  • Six airbags standard
  • Electronic stability control
  • Hill-start assist
  • Level 2 ADAS suite
  • All-LED lighting package

This positions the Seltos as one of the most feature-rich SUVs in its class.

Engine Options: Same Reliable Lineup, Hybrid Still Undecided

The 2026 Kia Seltos continues with three familiar engines:

1.5L NA Petrol

  • 113bhp / 144Nm
  • 6-speed MT or CVT

1.5L Turbo-Petrol (GDi)

  • 158bhp / 253Nm
  • 6-speed iMT or 7-speed DCT

1.5L Diesel

  • 118bhp / 260Nm
  • 6-speed MT or 6-speed AT

A hybrid powertrain was rumoured, but Kia has not confirmed it at the unveiling.

Expected Price and Competition

The second-gen Seltos is expected to be priced between ₹12 lakh and ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom).

It will compete against:

  • Hyundai Creta
  • Maruti Grand Vitara
  • Maruti Victoris
  • Toyota Hyryder
  • Honda Elevate
  • Skoda Kushaq
  • Volkswagen Taigun
  • MG Astor

With its updated styling, stronger equipment list, and expanded cabin space, the new Seltos aims to maintain its position as one of India’s bestselling mid-size SUVs.
