The iconic Renault Duster is finally returning to India in an all-new third-generation avatar. Testing is now in full swing, with multiple spy shots confirming that Renault is gearing up for a major comeback in the mid-size SUV space. The SUV will make its India debut on 26 January 2026, followed by a market launch soon after.
The new Duster will compete in one of India’s most crowded segments, taking on the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Tata Sierra, Toyota Hyryder, and more.
All-New Exterior Design
Built on the CMF-B modular platform, the 2026 Renault Duster for India will closely mirror the global Dacia Duster. Renault has given it a more muscular, modern and rugged stance for Indian roads.
Key Exterior Highlights
- Newly designed front grille with Renault’s latest logo
- Polygonal LED headlamps with Y-shaped LED DRLs
- Sporty, chunky front and rear bumpers
- Thick body cladding and sculpted wheel arches
- New alloy wheels
- Roof rails and C-pillar–mounted rear door handles
- Y-shaped taillamps and a heavily raked rear windshield
The new Duster retains the familiar tough character but elevates it with sharper lines and a more premium look.
Interior & Features (Expected)
While full interior details haven’t been revealed yet, the cabin is expected to be a major upgrade over the previous generation.
Likely Features
- Large touchscreen infotainment system
- Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
- Wireless charger
- Ventilated front seats
- Multi-airbag safety package
- Rear parking sensors & camera
- ADAS suite (likely limited to Level 1 or partial Level 2 features)
Renault is targeting a much more premium in-cabin experience compared to the outgoing models.

Petrol-Only Engine Options for India
Renault will not offer a diesel engine this time. Instead, the new Duster will come with turbo-petrol powertrains:
Expected Engines
- 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo-petrol – for lower variants
- 1.3L turbo-petrol (156 bhp) – for higher variants
Transmission options are expected to include both manual and automatic.
Future Possibilities
- A hybrid version may be added later as Renault explores electrified powertrains.
- Renault is also evaluating a factory CNG variant exclusively for India.
Expected Price Range
Renault will position the Duster aggressively to regain its lost market share.
- Base variant: ₹11–12 lakh
- Top petrol variants: Around ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom)
Given the Duster’s strong brand recall and new features, Renault is aiming for strong value positioning.
